• Learning Path Summary

    Fostering the ability to write in all subject areas has become an increasingly important part of all curriculum. Helping students to write effectively and clearly are important skills for students to develop as they prepare to move from the world of school to the world of work.

    In this Learning Path, writing frames are introduced as a scaffolding strategy that allows teachers to construct a learning environment where students can be successful while still making choices on their own. Scaffolding provides clear directions, clarifies purpose, keeps students on task and offers assessment to clarify expectations.
