  • This Learning Path will support you as you integrate 21st Century Digital Storytelling into a unit of study.  While digital storytelling is often thought of as a literacy activity, it should also be seen as a way to demonstrate understanding in any content area.  Teaching through story helps all students contextualize new knowledge.  The Common Core standards rely more heavily on informational texts.  Digital Storytelling is a tool to help students gain deeper understanding of standards with an accessible, and often collaborative, means to show what they know and understand.

    As noted above, digital storytelling is often thought of as a literacy activity, but it is a cross-curricular tool that allows students to demonstrate understanding in any content area.

    Other 'digital storytelling' tools can be digital comics, podcasts, virtual timelines, etc.  You are not limited to what is presented here during this learning path!
